Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking an Engineer II, Wind Operations to join our onshore wind fleet in the Americas. This hands-on engineer will drive commissioning through steady-state operations, diagnose issues, and lead root-cause investigations to improve asset performance.

You will work across electrical, mechanical, and control systems, coordinating with Asset Management, O&M, and Project teams to standardize practices and elevate reliability. Strong problem-solving and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Minimum 5 years in wind energy or power generation.
• Experience in commissioning, field engineering, or operations support.
• Strong troubleshooting of electrical systems in wind turbines.
• Ability to lead RCA processes and implement solutions.
• Data-driven decision making and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced troubleshooting on wind turbine electrical and electromechanical systems.
• Act as turbine generalist across electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
• Drive root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
• Develop repair strategies and technical specifications for components.
• Collaborate with Asset Management, O&M, and Projects to boost fleet reliability.
• Contribute to standardization of engineering practices and commissioning processes.
• Apply AI methodologies to engineering and operational challenges.
