Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Wind Farm Technician I to ensure safe, efficient operation and maintenance of wind farms and related facilities. You will perform routine inspections, troubleshoot issues, and conduct repairs, while upholding EHS standards and documenting activities.

The role may involve mentoring junior staff and leading retrofit efforts to improve reliability. The position emphasizes strong safety practices, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration to support ongoing

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or equivalent certification in renewable energy technology or electrical systems preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of technical experience in the renewable energy sector preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of work experience in operations and/or maintenance in power generation, transmission and/or distribution, with at least 3 years of wind turbine experience
• Wind Turbine experience with major platforms preferred (e.g., Vestas, GE, Acciona, Nordex)
• 2/4 year technical degree in engineering, physics, power, or closely related field preferred
• Military experience in a technical field preferred
• Unrestricted driver’s license required
• JHA/LOTO experience and safety protocol knowledge
• Proficiency with MS Office and ability to prepare technical presentations
• Strong project management, teamwork and communication skills
• Ability and willingness to travel to multiple job sites
• Ability to lead teams and mentor junior staff
• Knowledge of renewable energy systems and grid integration considerations

Responsibilities

• Ensure all operation and maintenance activities are performed safely and in compliance with site-specific policies and EHS requirements
• Lead installation, maintenance, repair, major component work and troubleshooting of renewable energy systems and BoP procedures
• Conduct acceptance and performance tests, inspections, and detailed reporting following planned maintenance or outages
• Lead retrofit installations and complex repairs and perform root cause analysis to improve system efficiency
• Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance and processes
• Train, supervise, and support junior team members and promote safety protocols
• Serve as backup to personnel at other sites and provide operational support as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate findings to managers and stakeholders
• Travel to and from various job sites as assigned
