Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a millwright for the Highland Repower Wind Project in Primghar, IA. You will dismantle, erect, assemble, align, adjust, and maintain wind turbine components according to manuals and drawings.

Responsibilities include offloading major components, nacelle/hub/tower assembly prep, blade-hub connections, crane support, and working at height. Must read safety and maintenance instructions and work with a diverse team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum one year of related experience is required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, assembly/disassembly, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; strong teamwork and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive and offload major components.
• Install loose components for nacelle, hub, and tower preparation.
• Connect blades to hub.
• Set base and tower sections.
• Assist with main erection crane assembly and teardown.
• Climb ladders (average 80m).
• Drill and tap holes on turbines, generators, compressors, and pumps.
• Torque/tension bolted connections.
• Build relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
