Job summary

Mortenson is currently seeking a millwright for the Highland Repower Wind Project in Primghar, IA to dismantle, erect, assemble, align and maintain turbine equipment according to manuals and drawings.

Responsibilities include offloading components, setting bases, connecting nacelle parts, assisting crane assembly, climbing towers, and following safety procedures while working with a diverse team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum one year of related experience.
• Current driver\'s license.
• Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, assembly/disassembly, operation and maintenance instructions; strong teamwork and customer service skills.
• Detail-oriented with active listening and effective communication.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Receive and offload major turbine components.
• Install loose components for nacelle, hub, and tower preparation.
• Connect blades to hub.
• Set base and tower sections.
• Handle taglines.
• Assist with main erection crane assembly and teardown.
• Climb ladders (up to 80 m).
• Drill and tap holes on turbines, generators, compressors, and pumps.
• Torque and tension bolted connections.
• Build relationships across diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
