Mortenson in Illinois seeks a skilled wind-turbine technician for the Heritage Prairie Wind Project in Reddick. The role covers dismantling, erecting, assembling, aligning, and maintaining equipment per installation manuals and drawings, with a focus on safety and quality.

The position requires offloading major components, installing nacelle parts, connecting blades to hub, base/tower setup, crane coordination, and up to 80 m ladder climbs.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, assembly/disassembly and maintenance instructions.
• Strong teamwork orientation and professional customer service attitude.
• Detail oriented with accuracy in manual tasks and inspections.

Responsibilities

• Receiving and offloading major components.
• Installing loose components for nacelle, hub, and tower preparation.
• Connecting blades to hub.
• Setting base and tower sections.
• Managing taglines during lifting operations.
• Involved with main erection crane assembly and teardown.
• Climbing ladders up to approximately 80 m.
• Drilling and/or tapping holes on turbines, generators, and pumps.
• Torqueing/tensioning bolted connections.
