Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Renewables Mechanical Engineer-Level 1 Associate to provide mechanical engineering support for wind turbine maintenance, restoration, and special projects across a renewable energy fleet. You will troubleshoot mechanical systems, perform root cause analysis, and develop practical engineering solutions to improve reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Approx. 3 years of engineering experience supporting wind turbines or renewable energy assets.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems and diagnosing equipment failures.
• Strong technical writing and reporting skills.
• Effective communication for cross-functional teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support for wind turbine maintenance, restoration, and special projects across the renewable fleet.
• Perform root cause analysis on mechanical equipment issues and develop clear corrective recommendations.
• Review and validate repair procedures, technical reports, and contractor work scopes to ensure quality.
• Support major component replacement activities, blade maintenance programs, and reliability initiatives.
• Develop detailed repair recommendations and engineering solutions for complex mechanical issues in wind turbine systems.
• Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, project managers, site operations, and contractors to resolve technical challenges.
• Assist with project planning and budgeting by providing technical input and documentation.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation including analysis reports and reliability improvement proposals.
• Support fleet-wide reliability programs and continuous improvement through data analysis.
• Contribute to projects involving wind, solar, and BESS as needed.
• Use Excel, Smartsheet, and Power BI to track projects and report engineering activities.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
