The position is office-based with occasional site visits. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3+ years of wind/renewable energy experience, with familiarity with major turbine platforms

Qualifications

Duration: 12-Month W2 Contract

Pay Rate: $27.00 - $31.00/hr

Position Summary

Our client, a leading utility, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join its renewable fleet team. You'll support maintenance, restoration and special projects across a large wind portfolio. You'll troubleshoot mechanical problems, lead failure analysis and give engineering direction on complex field work. You'll work alongside Project Managers, Site Operations, OEMs and contractors to solve technical problems and improve equipment reliability. The role is mostly office-based, with occasional site visits.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for wind turbine maintenance and restoration projects
• Lead root cause analyses and recommend corrective actions

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 3+ years of engineering experience supporting wind turbines, renewable energy assets or comparable industrial equipment
• Hands‑on experience troubleshooting mechanical systems and equipment failures
• Experience with GE, Vestas, Siemens Gamesa or other wind turbine platforms (preferred)
• Background in major component replacements and turbine mechanical systems (preferred)
• Experience supporting utility‑scale wind generation assets (preferred)

• Strong technical writing, communication and analytical skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and engineering analysis tools
• Smartsheet and Power BI experience (preferred)
