Job summary

MasTec, Inc. seeks a Wind Turbine Technician to assist crew in assembling and mechanically completing turbines on construction sites. You will follow safety policies, help with QC and repair, and support heavy equipment operations in dynamic outdoor environments.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, plus Tower Rescue Training, LOTO and Confined Space certifications. Compensation ranges from $24.00–$26.50 per hour, with benefits including 401(k), ESPP, and comprehensive health coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 6–12 months related construction experience.
• Or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Tower Rescue Training, LOTO, Confined Space certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with safety policies and procedures.
• Complete required Safety documentation.
• Climb wind turbines daily to assemble and mechanically complete wind turbines.
• Uses taglines to control suspended loads during assembly of wind turbine components.
• Bolts, nails, aligns, screws, torques, tensions parts associated with wind turbine construction.
• Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement and adjustment of machinery to load, offload, push and pull.
• Position, join, align and connect pumps, motors and other mechanical or metal parts inside a wind turbine.
• Mop, brush or spread paints or bituminous compounds over surfaces for protection.
• Spray materials such as water, sand, steam, vinyl, paint or stucco through hose to clean, coat or seal surfaces.
• Apply caulking compounds by hand or with caulking gun to seal crevices.
• Grind, sand or polish surfaces such as concrete and steel, using abrasive tools or machines.
• Perform tasks involving use of hands and tools such as torquing/tensioning bolts and studs, assembling metal parts, building bolt cages, vibrating concrete, sawing lumber, dismantling forms, removing forms from concrete, and demolitions, cleanup, use of jackhammers, etc.
• May be required to travel to different jobsites on limited notice.
• Other duties as assigned
