Job summary

Amentum in Allen Park, MI is seeking an onsite Wind Tunnel Technician to operate wind tunnels, manage vehicle data, and support test cell activities. The role requires late afternoon shifts (3:00PM–11:30PM) and involves handling camouflage removal, vehicle prep, and assisting technicians in a fast-paced garage environment.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma, basic electrical/test knowledge, and strong customer-service skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with ability to work afternoons.
• General knowledge of automotive parts and basic functionality.
• General knowledge of basic electrical test methodologies.
• Basic computer interfacing skills.
• Good customer-service attitude and communication skills.
• Preferred: 3 years’ experience as automotive mechanic or wind tunnel/dyno operator.

Responsibilities

• Prep and de-prep vehicles, including wind tunnel instrumentation installation and removal.
• Operate wind tunnels and chassis dynos.
• Service customers in the garage, soak rooms, and test cells.
• Respond to radio calls as first responder.
• Receive and release vehicles in the data-base.
• Track vehicle status across multiple databases.
• Install and remove camouflage from test vehicles.
• Wash vehicles as required.
• Assist with cold chamber de-freeze/defog testing.
• Support drivers for test cells and soak rooms.
• Provide assistance to all technicians.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all garage areas.
