Job summary

Amentum is hiring Engine Test Technicians to operate in the Engine Dyno lab in Dearborn, MI on the midnight shift (11 PM–7:30 AM). The role emphasizes hands-on dynamometer testing, data validation and collaboration with engineers.

The position requires a High School Diploma, knowledge of engines/powertrains, and willingness to work overtime and weekend testing as needed. Safety and quality are emphasized in a high‑noise, hot environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Good interpersonal, computer, oral and written skills.
• Knowledge of engines and powertrain.
• Desire to pursue an Associate’s degree in Automotive Technology or related field.

Responsibilities

• Conduct gasoline and diesel engine dynamometer testing in the engine dyno lab.
• Fabricate basic fixtures and interface with engineers on test procedures and equipment updates.
• Verify calibration and maintenance of test equipment and test systems, and troubleshoot issues.
• Install engines on dynamometer, connect instrumentation, run tests, and swap parts as needed.
