Job summary

Pattern Energy seeks an onsite wind plant technician to oversee maintenance, repairs and equipment replacements at our wind generation facility. You will read schematics, troubleshoot issues, and support the Facility Manager in daily operations.

You must climb towers, handle heavy equipment, and perform preventive maintenance while complying with environmental health and safety programs. Travel to other sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to climb 80+ meter steel towers daily for nacelle/hub maintenance.
• Able to lift 1–60 lbs frequently and 61–100 lbs occasionally.
• Experience with maintenance and electronic testing equipment (voltage testers, oscilloscopes, meg-ohmmeters, infrared testers).
• Advanced computer skills with word processing, spreadsheets, and reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wind turbines and wind plant equipment and facilities.
• Support Facility Manager in all on-site operations.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems using schematics.
• Perform preventive maintenance following OEM and Pattern Energy practices.
• Maintain tools and report wind plant data as required.
