Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking an Engineer (Staff, Senior or Principal) in Renewable Generation Development - Wind. This role focuses on early-stage development, site layout, design optimization, and technical due diligence for utility-scale wind projects.

You will lead engineering activities, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure projects meet technical and portfolio objectives. Hybrid work model with on-site days according to role needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from ABET accredited curriculum.
• 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• EIT/FE strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering leadership for early-stage wind project development.
• Lead concept development, site layout and design optimization.
• Perform technical due diligence and evaluate energy and cost estimates.
• Support bid and RFP evaluations with cross-functional teams.
• Coordinate with development, commercial, environmental and transmission teams.
• Mentor engineers and technicians on advanced technical work.
