Job summary

EDP Renewables is seeking a Site Lead Technician for the Lone Star Wind Farm in Abilene, TX. You will manage on-site operations, maintenance, and repairs of wind-energy equipment, leading a team of Field Service Technicians and coordinating with internal departments to ensure safe, reliable plant performance.

You will diagnose issues, implement fixes, supervise safety, and handle administrative duties like reporting and timesheets.

Qualifications

1+ years of college or technical school education or equivalent experience.
2–5 years of relevant wind energy experience or related industry.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, SQL Server, facility management, and reporting systems.
Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment and heavy equipment required for facility maintenance.
Experience with wind plant operations, turbines, high voltage switching, and post-operational repair preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership to a team of up to 10 Field Service Technicians including planning and executing work schedules, mentoring, coaching, and evaluating performance.
Facilitate training requirements such as certifications, safety training, and compliance training.
Ensure proper operation and maintenance of wind turbines and associated wind plant equipment.
Identify gaps in safety standards and risks and implement mitigation.
Read schematics to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems.
Perform preventive maintenance following OEM manuals.
