Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Engineer III or IV – Wind Collection to support preliminary and detailed engineering for wind, storage, and medium voltage systems up to 500kV. The role spans across Minneapolis, Denver, Fargo, and San Antonio with a focus on coordinating design packages and QA/QC.

The position requires a BSEE (ABET preferred), familiarity with Procore, and knowledge of power systems, AutoCAD, CYMCAP, and CDEGS. Travel up to 10% and potential PE licensure are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related program; ABET accreditation desirable.
• Experience with engineering software packages and Procore for project controls.
• Knowledge of power systems and substations; electrical background preferred.
• Proficiency with CYMCAP, CDEGS, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, ArcGIS/QGIS.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to travel up to 10%.
• PE license preferred; EIT accepted with path to PE.

Responsibilities

• Support design packages and QA/QC for wind collection and substation projects.
• Lead design efforts on large projects and mentor engineers.
• Interface with customers, project teams and management; prepare technical documentation.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline teams to deliver engineering work on schedule.
• Review and validate equipment quotes and technical data against project requirements.
• Develop detailed designs aligned with Mortenson standards and safety codes.
