Job summary

The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore seeks an Events and Rentals Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and execute special events and facility rentals. You will manage on-site operations, guest services, and vendor coordination, while supporting CRM data entry and revenue goals.

Strong organizational and communication skills, customer service experience, and MS Office proficiency are essential. This full-time on-site role requires flexibility for events and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1 year minimum of direct experience working on large-scale events.
• Minimum of two years of customer service experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Willingness to obtain and maintain TIPS certification.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Experience coordinating paid and volunteer staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing special events and facility rentals, including contracts, COIs, and payments in the CRM.
• Respond to rental inquiries, schedule tours and follow-ups with clients.
• Perform event setup/breakdown and on-site oversight on event days.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors for event setup and execution.
• Respond to event inquiries, assist guests with scheduling tickets, and manage confirmations.
