Icy Strait Point in Alaska is seeking a Wilderness Tour Guide for the 2026 season to lead immersive excursions and share Alaska's natural beauty with guests. You will guide activities such as forest tours, wildlife viewing, Jeep/ATV trips, and Zip Rider, while delivering engaging storytelling and cultural context.
Expect to welcome guests, ensure safety, and maintain high service standards. Seasonal April–September, with bonus potential and remote Alaskan living considerations.

Do you love the outdoors, wildlife, and sharing Alaska's natural beauty with guests? Join Icy Strait Point as a
Wilderness Tour Guide
and lead immersive excursions that leave guests with memories that last a lifetime. Whether it's exploring lush mountain forests, spotting birds, guiding ATV or Jeep tours, or experiencing our Zip Rider, you'll be at the heart of the adventure.
Lead safe and engaging excursions across a variety of experiences, including mountain forests, wildlife tours, Jeep and ATV tours, Zip Rider, and bird watching.
Share stories, knowledge, and local culture- including Tlingit history and traditions- with guests of all ages.
Welcome and orient guests, providing excellent customer service and ensuring their safety throughout the tour.
Crosstrain to assist and lead other ISP excursions as needed.
Promote ISP experiences, distribute literature, or sell merchandise.
Participate in required training and maintain a strong commitment to safety.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Passion for the outdoors and Alaska's wildlife.
Adequate knowledge or willingness to learn about
Tlingit culture
and the local environment.
Excellent communication skills; patient and capable of leading groups of kids and adults.
Ability to learn, retain, and accurately present excursion information.
Strong commitment to guest safety and a professional, friendly demeanor.
CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.
Some tours require applicants to be
18 years or older
.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Able to lift 25 lbs, stand for extended periods, and walk 5+ miles daily.
Willing to live in a
remote, rural Alaskan community
.
Comfortable traveling by small plane or ferry to and from the site.
Able to walk and drive on gravel roads in inclement weather.
Work in Alaska's pristine wilderness surrounded by wildlife and stunning scenery
Engage with guests from around the world and share stories of nature, culture, and history
Gain hands-on experience guiding a variety of outdoor adventures
Competitive seasonal pay with bonus potential
