Job summary

The State of Florida’s Department of Health in Clermont, FL, is seeking an OPS Family Support Worker to support WIC participants with breastfeeding education and counseling. You will help participants from pregnancy through growth spurts, emphasizing privacy, cultural sensitivity, and adherence to program policies.

The role requires occasional after-hours work during emergencies and travel to multiple WIC sites within Lake County.

Qualifications

• Willing to work outside normal hours in emergencies.
• Exclusively breastfed an infant for at least 6 months.
• Willing to travel to different WIC sites in Lake County.

Responsibilities

• Respect the participant’s privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
• Respect and respond sensitively to cultural attitudes and practices of participants and the community.
• Maintain records according to legal requirements and ethical practices.
• Promote breastfeeding in the community, workplace, and health care system.
