Job summary

Florida Department of Health seeks an OPS Dietetic Technician to support WIC services in Jackson County and surrounding clinics. The role focuses on counseling pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, collecting health data, and promoting breastfeeding education in a para-professional capacity.

You will work primarily at the Jackson WIC Clinic and may report to other clinics as needed. This part-time position requires excellent customer service and strict confidentiality in all client interactions.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of breastfeeding and counseling principles.
• Experience with breastfeeding support and peer counseling.
• Knowledge of Florida WIC program and nutrition training is preferred.
• Ability to work with diverse clients and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Counsels WIC participants by phone or clinic visits according to schedule.
• Cross trained in data collection and nutrition assessment.
• Provides breastfeeding information and support to new mothers.
• Maintains accurate records and adheres to program protocols.
• Attends classes, meetings, and breastfeeding events as required.
