Job summary

Florida Department of Health in Marion County seeks an OPS Nutrition Educator to support the WIC and Breastfeeding programs. Responsibilities include telephone support, data entry, and coordinating with program staff.

The role requires travel to clinics using your own vehicle and the ability to respond to emergencies as needed. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition or Dietetics and a valid driver license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Driver License.
• Willing to travel to clinics using your own vehicle.
• Experience completing nutrition counseling, assessments and writing nutrition care plans (preferred).
• Experience working the WIC program (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Time sheet and EAR entry within the required time frame.
• Subject to emergency duty in the event of a natural disaster.
• May be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal hours during emergencies (including in Red Cross shelters).
• Responsible for phone response and assistance for the Marion County WIC Program/Breastfeeding Program; promote cooperation and teamwork.
• Answering multi-line phone, inputting information into the FL-WISE system, and triaging calls to program staff.
