Job summary

Florida Department of Health in Clermont, FL is seeking an OPS Family Support Worker to support breastfeeding families within the WIC program. You will provide counseling, education, and resources to participants, and collaborate with the Breastfeeding Coordinator and WIC staff to ensure quality care.

Responsibilities include safeguarding privacy, delivering patient-centered support, and assisting participants from pregnancy through growth and weaning.

Qualifications

• Willing to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours.
• Exclusively breastfed an infant for at least 6 months.
• Willing to travel to different WIC sites in Lake County.

Responsibilities

• Respect participant privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
• Support breastfeeding participants from pregnancy through growth spurts.
• Teach basic breastfeeding techniques and address common concerns.
• Promote breastfeeding in community and workplaces.
• Refer mothers to resources and coordinate with WIC staff.
