AccessHealth is seeking a WIC clerk to perform clinical, technical and clerical tasks for certification and issuance of WIC benefits in Texas. You will screen participants, record recalls, weigh and measure, and test blood hemoglobin, ensuring accurate records and compassionate service.

In this role, you will support outreach, promote breastfeeding, and help families access nutrition education and food benefits. High school diploma or GED required; bilingual preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of work experience, preferably in the health field.
• Ability to work with people of all socioeconomic levels.
• Bilingual preferred but not required.
• REQUIRED: Ability to organize work, develop procedures, and follow instructions.
• REQUIRED: Ability to coordinate heavy correspondence including confidential documents.
• REQUIRED: Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
• REQUIRED: High ethical standards.
• REQUIRED: Well-organized and self-directed.
• REQUIRED: Good keyboarding skills and legible handwriting.
• REQUIRED: Team player.
• REQUIRED: Ability to relate to people at all levels and respond to sensitive inquiries.

Responsabilités

• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and transfer participants.
• Determine participant eligibility according to WIC policy.
• Record 24-hour diet recalls and perform measurements and hemoglobin testing.
• Provide appropriate participant referrals.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records.
• Support daily reports, certification, nutrition education classes, and data transfer to WIC State Agency.
• Promote breastfeeding as the preferred infant feeding method.
• Participate in outreach activities to increase participant numbers.
• Take active role in supporting LA29’s vision and mission.
• Inventory office and medical supplies as assigned.
• Prepare end-of-month WIC reports.
• Provide client confidentiality and good customer service.
• Perform other duties as assigned by WIC supervisor or nutritionist.
