Job summary

AccessHealth Community Health Center in Texas is seeking a dedicated WIC Support Specialist to assist with certification, nutrition education, and client services for the WIC program. You will perform clinical and clerical duties, determine participant eligibility, document dietary recalls, weigh and measure infants and children, test hemoglobin levels, and ensure secure, accurate records.

Strong communication and organization are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year work experience, preferably in the health field.
• Bilingual preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and coordinate transfers between sites.
• Determine participant eligibility for WIC benefits per policy.
• Provide clinical WIC services: recalls, weighing, measuring, graphing, and Hb testing.
• Provide referrals and maintain confidential records.
• Support daily reports, certification, nutrition classes, and data transfers to WIC State Agency.
• Promote breastfeeding as the preferred infant feeding method.
• Engage in outreach and help grow WIC participant numbers.
• Screen infants/children for immunization status and referrals.
• Inventory supplies and prepare end-of-month reports.
• Ensure client confidentiality and customer service.
• Comply with policies and perform other duties as assigned.
