Job summary

The Alamance County Government is seeking a WIC Clerk to support the Women’s, Infants, and Children program. The role focuses on explaining eligibility requirements, issuing benefits, and scheduling appointments for participants in North Carolina.

You will determine financial eligibility, assist with benefit issuance, and may back up the WIC Lab Clerk with weights, measurements, and finger-stick tests. Strong customer service and office skills are essential; bilingual Spanish encouraged.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required with one or more years of secretarial or office experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills required.
• One year of experience working in a medical office setting preferred.
• Possession of a valid NC driver's license and access to a personal vehicle. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determines financial eligibility for WIC participants according to regulations.
• Assists with issuing WIC benefits to eligible participants.
• Backs up WIC Lab Clerk, including obtaining weights and measurements and finger-stick tests.
• Provides breastfeeding support and assistance to WIC participants.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or WIC Director.
