Whistleblower and Employment Litigation Associate | Fully Remote, Los Angeles | $240,000 to $330,000
Every family has one relative who keeps every receipt they've ever been handed. They live in shoeboxes in the spare room, labeled by month in black marker, with the tax years in the bigger boxes because those came from a pair of hiking boots. Ask about the toaster they bought you in 2011 and they'll be back down the stairs in four minutes with the receipt, the warranty card and a note of what the weather was doing in the parking lot. They've never needed any of it. They're keeping it anyway, and the boxes have started going up the side of the closet.
In an employment case that relative is the plaintiff. They kept the text from the supervisor, a screenshot of the schedule, the email to HR at eleven at night and the follow up nobody answered, all in date order. Your client, a company with an entire records department, kept a good deal less.
This Los Angeles team spends a lot of time working out what an employer can prove it knew and when. The cases look like this:
It's fully remote, for someone three to five years in, at $240,000 to $330,000. They'll be pleased if you've already stood up before a jury or argued an arbitration or a mediation, they look at academics, and they want someone clients are happy to have on the phone. California Bar required.
