Job summary

JBA International, LLC. in Glendale, CA seeks an Associate Attorney for Employment Trial Litigation on the plaintiff side.

You will prepare cases for trial, take and defend depositions, and draft motions and briefs to advance settlements and trial strategy. Ideal candidates have an active California State Bar license, 5+ years in employment law litigation, and proven trial experience; familiarity with FEHA, wage-and-hour claims, and local rules is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of employment law litigation experience (required).
• Trial experience (required).
• Deposition experience (required).
• Experience with FEHA, wrongful termination, Labor Code, and wage-and-hour claims.
• Strong knowledge of California Civil Procedure and local court rules.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and organizational skills.
• Arbitration knowledge and mediation experience (required).
• Firm-paid bar dues, MCLE, and malpractice coverage.

Compensation: $190,000–$250,000 per year + Bonuses

• Prepare employment cases for trial
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts to build cases for trial
• Draft and argue motions, including discovery motions, motions for summary judgment, motions in limine, and post-trial motions
• Draft trial briefs, exhibit and witness lists, jury instructions, and verdict forms
• Communicate directly with clients, experts, and opposing counsel, and lead settlement negotiations and mediations
• Work closely with senior trial attorneys and dedicated support staff in our Los Angeles office to develop trial strategy
