Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 3+ years supervisory experience in dairy/food manufacturing.
• Experience supervising whey production or dairy processing preferred.
• Strong GMP and food safety knowledge.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Supervise whey production activities and staff to meet daily goals.
• Coach and develop production employees; manage scheduling and attendance.
• Monitor yield, efficiency, downtime, and quality metrics.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, safety and food safety standards.
• Coordinate with QA, Maintenance, Sanitation to resolve issues.

Job Summary

AppleOne is seeking an experienced Whey Plant Supervisor for a direct hire opportunity in Hanford, CA with a food and beverage production operation. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for a manufacturing professional with experience in dairy processing, whey production, food manufacturing, production supervision, and continuous improvement. The Whey Plant Supervisor will lead daily plant operations, support food safety and quality standards, coach production employees, and help drive performance across safety, efficiency, yield, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily whey production activities, including work assignments, production goals, staffing needs, workflow, and labor utilization.
• Lead, coach, train, and develop production employees while managing attendance, scheduling, accountability, and performance expectations.
• Monitor key operational metrics such as yield, efficiency, downtime, quality results, and plant productivity.
• Ensure compliance with GMPs, food safety standards, company policies, OSHA requirements, and FSSC 22000 expectations.
• Partner with Quality Assurance, Food Safety, Maintenance, and Sanitation teams to resolve production issues, support audits, and maintain equipment reliability.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts, root cause investigations, corrective actions, and safety initiatives across the whey production area.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range: $90,000 to $95,000 per year.
• Job type: Direct hire.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Supervise whey manufacturing operations and ensure daily production goals are achieved.
• Lead production employees, manage schedules, support training, and maintain employee accountability.
• Monitor manufacturing performance, quality metrics, safety compliance, and process efficiency.
• Coordinate with Quality, Food Safety, Maintenance, and Sanitation teams to support reliable plant operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field, or a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in food manufacturing, dairy production, or industrial manufacturing.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience preferred for this level of responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of production operations, manufacturing processes, plant workflow, and employee supervision.
• Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced food production or manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, organization, coaching, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Commitment to safety, quality, food safety compliance, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in whey processing, dairy manufacturing, cheese production, or food processing environments.
• Knowledge of FSSC 22000, HACCP, SQF, BRC, or similar food safety and quality systems.
• Experience conducting quality investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action follow-up.
• Understanding of statistical process control, production KPIs, yield, efficiency, downtime, and manufacturing performance metrics.
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Food Safety, or Quality certifications.
• Experience with automated production equipment, process controls, sanitation programs, and preventive maintenance coordination.
