Job Summary

We are seeking a QA Supervisor (food industry) for a direct hire opportunity. This role is ideal for a quality professional with strong food safety, regulatory compliance, and team leadership experience who is ready to oversee daily QA/QC operations in a fast-paced production environment.

The QA Supervisor will play a key role in maintaining product quality, supporting audit readiness, leading quality personnel, and driving continuous improvement across food safety and quality systems. This opportunity offers long-term stability, meaningful responsibility, and the chance to work with cross-functional teams that value quality, compliance, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily QA Lab activities, Quality Control functions, product inspections, testing programs, and quality verification processes throughout production.
  • Plan, organize, and schedule QA/QC departmental activities to maximize the effective use of personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Manage hold and release procedures for finished products, in-process materials, and samples, including shelf-life studies and related documentation.
  • Maintain and improve food safety and quality programs, including FSMS, HACCP, pest control, food defense, allergen control, GMPs, and QA/QC procedures.
  • Lead, train, coach, and evaluate QA and QC personnel while enforcing company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Investigate non‑conformances, customer complaints, and quality issues using quality metrics, statistical methods, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary range: $80,000 to $90,000 per year.
  • Job type: Direct hire.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Supervise QA Lab and Quality Control activities in a food manufacturing production environment.
  • Maintain food safety, quality, regulatory, and audit readiness programs.
  • Lead investigations, corrective actions, quality reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Train, coach, and develop QA and QC team members.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a closely related scientific field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, food safety systems, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong working knowledge of HACCP principles, GMPs, Food Safety Management Systems, and food manufacturing processes.
  • Experience using statistical methods to support investigations, evaluate data, and assess process performance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication, decision‑making, problem‑solving, and time management skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage documentation, quality records, audits, and compliance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible experience in food manufacturing, packaging, and quality assurance.
  • HACCP Certification.
  • PCQI Certification.
  • Experience working in an FSSC 22000-certified facility.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish skills.
  • Experience supporting regulatory audits and customer audits.
