Job summary

WD is seeking a motivated Process Engineer to join our wafer manufacturing team in San Jose, California. You will develop, optimize, and sustain advanced processes such as Wet Etch, Snow, Liftoff, and Electroplating in high-volume manufacturing.

As part of the Manufacturing Process Engineering team, you will collaborate with engineers, technicians, and cross-functional partners to drive yield, cost, and cycle-time improvements, perform failure analysis, qualify new equipment, and implement

Qualifications

• B.S. with 2 years or M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, microfabrication, or other technology-focused environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to interpret data and identify trends.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to work effectively both independently and in collaborative team environments.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools such as JMP, Python, SQL, Minitab, SAS, or MATLAB.

Responsibilities

• Perform failure analysis on defective wafers, disposition wafers on hold, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Drive achievement of yield, cost, and cycle time goals.
• Evaluate and qualify new equipment, materials, and processes.
• Implement and optimize APC, SPC, and process control schemes.
• Document processes and provide training to the manufacturing team.
