Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Data Center Technician for the West Region to support regional data center sites across OR, NV, AZ. The role covers hardware diagnostics, server repairs, and on‑call rotations to ensure 24/7 availability of AWS services.

Travel across region and relocation within the West may be required. Responsibilities include collaborating with engineers, software and network teams, handling incidents, and helping onboard new team members.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of computer/server hardware troubleshooting.
• 2+ years of computer layer 1/2 networking experience.
• Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or equivalent military/professional IT experience.
• Experience in a data center or other critical environment.
• Experience training and onboarding of new team members.

Responsibilities

• Perform server rack installations, hardware break‑fix, troubleshooting network issues, and responding to incidents to maintain service availability.
• Serve as primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders including engineers and vendors.
• Perform on‑call duties and participate in maintenance and change management.
• Contribute to documentation and process improvements based on issue analysis.
• Assist in interviewing, training and onboarding of new team members.
