Job summary

Merck & Co. seeks a Regional Sales Director for the West US Immunology Sales organization to lead a second-line team of District Managers and drive growth in the region.

The role requires 10+ years in pharma sales, 3+ years of people management, and strong leadership in omnichannel strategies with payer insights. Travel up to 50% is expected to support regional growth and access initiatives.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree and at least 10 years of experience in sales, marketing, or managed care within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Minimum of 3 years of people management experience.
• At least 3 years' experience building and managing customer relationships.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% including overnight trips.
• Ability to develop regional strategic business plans and omnichannel strategies.
• Strong knowledge of regional healthcare dynamics and access/reimbursement considerations.
• Valid driver's license.
• MBA or MS in Science, Business, or Healthcare (preferred).
• Experience in immunology, specifically IBD in Gastroenterology, including product launches.

Responsibilities

• Lead, recruit, and develop regional team to execute engagement strategies.
• Own the customer portfolio and ensure trusted communications.
• Build relationships with senior leaders to support strategic engagement.
• Align account plans with payer and managed-care considerations.
• Deliver regional business results and meet P&L targets.
