Job summary

Phoenix Contact USA is seeking a Network Sales Engineer to cover Northern California, Oregon and Washington. You will serve as the SME on EtherWAN products, bridging technical expertise with customer engagement to enable pre-sales activities and post-sales guidance.

This regional role requires up to 65% travel, collaboration with sales and engineering teams, and training delivery. A BS in CS/Engineering and 3+ years of customer-facing experience are required along with strong communication and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent in experience.
• 3+ years of customer-facing experience.
• Understanding of IT vs OT networking environments.
• Direct or Channel technical sales experience preferred.
• Knowledge of OSI model, Layer 2/3, STP, TCP/IP, and routing protocols; wireless knowledge a plus.
• CCNA certification or equivalent experiences.
• Technical networking certifications are a plus.
• Well organized, self-motivated, capable of seeing projects to completion.
• Accountability, planning capabilities, and transparent communication.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; capable of presenting to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proficient with CRM, Microsoft Visio, and MS Office Suite.
• Subject matter expertise in vertical markets like transportation, security, energy, process automation is a plus.
• Able to travel 65%.

Responsibilities

• Assist stakeholders by introducing EtherWAN products and communicating value propositions.
• Project manage field engagements with business development and sales resources.
• Engage with prospects, partners, and customers in a collaborative field environment.
• Conduct training on Networking from beginner to advanced levels; assist in creating materials for EtherWAN Academy.
• Conduct network audits and assist customers with network design using EtherWAN products.
• Recreate client networks to assess product feasibility in customer environments.
• Cross-reference third-party products with EtherWAN offerings.
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends and customer needs; relay insights internally.
• Respond to customer inquiries about EtherWAN products and applications.
• Conduct follow-ups and customer meetings as needed; participate in trade shows and events.
• Generate mindshare with new and existing customers, channels, and partners.
