Job summary

HighRes is seeking a Robotic Automation Engineer I to join the West Coast-based Automation Engineering team. You will own field deployments, integrating robots, instruments, and CellarioScheduler into a lab platform with end-to-end responsibility.

You’ll perform FAT/SAT and collaborate with senior engineers on complex systems. You will travel to customer sites up to 40% annually and to Beverly, MA for training and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field with 2+ years experience; or an Associate’s with 4+ years; or Master’s with 1+ year
• Hands-on deployment, configuration, or support of laboratory automation or industrial robotics
• Experience with scheduling software such as CellarioScheduler, Green Button Go, Momentum, Overlord, or equivalents
• Proficiency in code interpretation with a foundation in object-oriented programming (C# or similar)
• Strong hardware/software troubleshooting and documentation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication across diverse audiences

Responsibilities

• Own commissioning of standard systems and integrate robots, instruments, and CellarioScheduler
• Modify and troubleshoot CellarioScheduler workflows on deployed systems
• Verify hardware, software, and integration deliverables meet acceptance criteria
• Execute FAT and SAT independently for standard systems
• Configure and troubleshoot automation hardware via firmware and diagnostics
• Interpret and debug C# and Python code within HighRes systems
• Configure SQL relational databases for scheduling applications
• Create and maintain technical documentation for deployed systems
• Deliver system training to customer teams
• Manage customer relationships and communicate progress clearly
• Collaborate on multi-system deployments with senior engineers
