Job summary

Welch Vacuum, a subsidiary of Ingersoll Rand, seeks an Area Sales Manager to lead our Sales Engineering function across the US West Coast, Mexico, and potentially South America. Remote with up to 75% travel, you will promote diverse vacuum technologies to distributors, manufacturers, system integrators, and end-users in Life Sciences, Medical, Chemical, and General Manufacturing.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of customer-facing vacuum sales experience.
• Remote with travel up to 50% in the West region.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive business growth and expand market share.
• Manage distributor base and pursue new opportunities.
• Provide technical support to OEMs and end-users.
• Collaborate with Field Sales Support, Application Engineering, Product Management, Operations, Quality, Finance, and Demand Gen.
• Lead major pricing negotiations and define technical specs.
• Build multi-level relationships with engineering, purchasing, and decision-makers.
• Maintain accurate sales forecasts and update CRM data.
• Leverage vacuum pump knowledge to promote Welch brand.
• Execute strategic activities as needed.
