Job summary

Rosewood Sand Hill in Menlo Park, CA, seeks a Director of Wellness to oversee the spa, fitness and Asaya membership programs, delivering exceptional service and financial performance across all areas. You will lead operations, develop strategic wellness initiatives, drive revenue, manage a team, and build relationships with guests and partners.

The role requires luxury hotel experience and five years of spa leadership, with proficiency in SpaTech systems.

Qualifications

• Broad understanding of Spa and Health Tourism industry, Spa Management and Operations, Budget Control, Personnel Management, Opportunity Management.
• Fluent in Microsoft Office and the Internet; knowledge of computer systems for spas; extensive knowledge of massage techniques, cosmetology, hydrotherapy, therapeutic techniques, traditional and natural methods.
• Minimum five (5) years of spa experience in a luxury hotel/resort environment; previous Spa Director level experience required.
• Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow up; be a clear thinker, remain calm and resolve problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co‑workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
• Motivated and outgoing personality.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Opera, SpaSoft and BirchStreet preferred; highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work within a team or individually.
• Required to speak, read and write English; fluency in other languages preferred.
• Physical requirements: ability to exert physical effort in transporting 40 pounds, endure various physical movements, reach up and down, remain stationary at times, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co‑workers.

Responsibilities

• Lead wellness operations including spa, fitness and Asaya membership, with financial performance.
• Develop strategic direction for wellness, create innovative spa and wellness programs and packages to drive revenue.
• Drive revenue growth through marketing initiatives and partnerships.
• Drive membership acquisition and retention by offering unique and bespoke services.
• Prepare monthly financial and statistical reports with recommendations.
• Coordinate marketing plans with Communications for the facility.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with guests and members.
• Assist in recruiting, training, and managing the wellness team.
• Drive revenue across all channels and opportunities across the property.
• Create programming and experiences for the spa and across the property to drive attendance.
• Champion gathering Trust You surveys and guest feedback.
