Job summary

Beach Balance Assistant at the CSULB Beach Balance Center in Long Beach, CA assists members with programs, coordinates events, and maintains daily operations. The role emphasizes friendly customer service, program registration, and collaboration with Student Wellness staff.

Ideal candidates are CSULB students enrolled in at least 6 units, with prior customer service experience and a desire to work in a diverse campus environment. Shifts include evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in customer service is preferred.
• Recreation, Kinesiology and Health Services majors are preferred, but not required.
• Must be a current and active CSULB student enrolled in a minimum of 6 units.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome all Beach Balance Center constituents and build positive relationships.
• Explain benefits and assist with registration for Beach Balance Center programs (massage therapy, biofeedback, wellness coaching).
• Assist with opening/closing of the Beach Balance Center.
• Maintain calendar for Beach Balance Center activities.
• Answer phones and respond to questions about SRWC programs and features.
• Respond to participant emails in a timely and professional manner.
• Attend monthly staff meetings and trainings.
• Assist with office tasks (filing, scanning, etc.) and with special projects as needed.
• Support coverage for shifts including evenings, weekends, or events.
