Job summary

Forty-Niner Shops, Inc. at CSULB Beach Shops is seeking a Dining Associate III who delivers excellent guest service while handling orders, payments, and food preparation. You will assist with training fellow student staff and help maintain a clean, efficient dining area.

Shifts require at least 12 hours per week, with seasonal Fall 2026 schedules. Must be a CSULB student capable of working at various stations and following safety and alcohol guidelines as per campus policies.

Qualifications

• Current CSULB student enrolled in a minimum of 6 units.
• 2 years of prior kitchen experience preferred (Beach Shops)
• CA Food Handler Card or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
• Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, take orders, collect payment and make change.
• Provide superior guest service in a fast-paced dining environment.
• Assist leadership with inventory management, invoices, and audits.
• Train and guide other student employees.
• Assist with special orders, events, and marketing activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in dining and kitchen areas.
• Follow alcohol serving guidelines and campus regulations.
• Partner with management to ensure accurate stock and vendor coordination.
