General Description: Wellness Attendant responsibilities include but are not limited to developing member relationships/customer service, conducting check‑in procedures and answering basic questions regarding equipment use, maintaining the cleanliness of the Wellness Center and associated hallways and vending areas, assisting in the preventative maintenance of equipment, and various housekeeping duties. The Wellness Center Attendant is responsible for ensuring compliance with policies and procedures and effective and safe functioning of the Wellness Center.
Reports To: Assistant Director of Recreation and Fitness
Current OCCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours for the Fall OR Spring semester OR enrolled in a minimum of 3 credit hours for the Summer semester, OR Current OCCC student with a Federal Work Study award.
Positive communication and human relation skills.
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours.
1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Medium work – this position requires the person to occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force and frequently exert up to 20 pounds of force and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: The position requires frequent movement throughout the Recreation and Fitness department facilities to perform the essential functions. This includes communicating with students, faculty, staff, and others; remaining in a standing and stationary position; operating a computer, office machinery, and department machines; operating equipment that involves repetitive hand and wrist motions; occasionally positioning self to access materials above the head or at ground level; frequently positioning self to move, lift, push, pull, work on, or operate and/or inspect equipment.
3. VISUAL ACUITY: The position requires judging, observing, and assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned or making general observations.
4. WORKING CONDITIONS: The essential functions are performed in an indoor recreation and fitness facility.

Quarterly Health and Safety Training.
Hours of Operation: Monday‑Friday 6 am‑7 pm with extended hours for special events. Various shifts available. No Sundays or holidays.
