Job summary

The YMCA of Central Stark County (Ohio) is seeking a friendly, customer-service oriented individual to work at the Minerva Area YMCA as a dual role between the Wellness Center and Front Desk. You will deliver excellent service to members, guests, and program participants while promoting memberships and programs.

Qualifications include strong communication, empathy, and the ability to relate to diverse groups.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is needed to welcome and engage with members.
• Strong listening skills with the ability to empathize and solve problems.
• Ability to relate to diverse groups of people in a service setting.
• Experience in customer service, sales, or related fields.
• Solid computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification is preferred but training can be provided.
• Understanding of exercise equipment and health & wellness basics.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants.
• Handles and resolves concerns and questions from the community.
• Promotes and sells YMCA memberships and programs.
• Builds relationships and connects community members to YMCA services.
• Part-time staff receive complimentary memberships and discounted child care/program rates.

Position Summary

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. This will be a dual role between the Wellness Center and Front Desk at the Minerva Area YMCA.

STARTING RATE

• $11.35/hr commensurate with experience

AVAILABLE HOURS

• Weekday afternoons and evenings
• Saturday mornings
• Other shifts as needed

Qualifications

• Eagerness to welcome, connect, and engage with others.
• Strong listener with the ability to empathize and problem solve.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people.
• Previous customer service, sales, or related experience.
• Solid computer skills and Microsoft Office experience required.
• Experience working with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred but will provide training
• Knowledge in overall health and wellness related fields
• In understanding of exercise equipment and procedures while in use
