Job summary

YMCA of Greater Brandywine is seeking a dedicated Wellness Center staff member to support members in the fitness center and ensure safety and risk management. You will be on the floor assisting with orientations, answering questions, and maintaining a clean, well‑kept facility.

The role requires strong communication, ability to engage diverse members, and a willingness to obtain necessary certifications within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage diverse members.
• Ability to interface with all personality types.
• Knowledge of basic exercise principles and fitness room etiquette.
• Must obtain and maintain certifications/trainings within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Wellness Center Orientations per branch guidelines.
• Provide safe, courteous, and professional assistance to members in the Fitness Center.
• Maintain cleanliness and ensure equipment is in good condition.
• Assist with member questions, spotting, and general fitness guidance.
• Report equipment issues to the fitness director and log appropriately.
• Support special events and open houses throughout the year.
