Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine is seeking a Wellness Center Attendant to serve members in the fitness center and ensure safety and risk management. You will welcome and assist members with a courteous, knowledgeable approach and be part of a team committed to healthy living.

Full-time role with benefits including comprehensive health insurance, retirement contributions, and flexible scheduling. Training and development are provided to support member well-being and program excellence.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Effective communication skills and ability to interface with all personality types.
• Knowledge of basic exercise principles.
• Obtain and maintain all additional new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Wellness Center Orientations based on branch guidelines and provide assistance in a safe, enthusiastic, thorough and courteous manner.
• Assist members in the Fitness Center and acknowledge members during workouts.
• Be identifiable by staff shirt and nametag; maintain 100% staffing during operating hours.
• Maintain clean facility and equipment; follow absolutes.
• Report mechanical or breakdown problems to fitness director and document in logbook.
• Provide advice, spotting and assistance to members; encourage equipment hygiene after use.
• Participate in events and open houses; support a healthy lifestyle.
