Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in activities or related field is advantageous.
• Demonstrable experience as an Activities Director for a similar group.
• Computer literate with budgeting tools knowledge.
• Strong program, event planning and supervision skills.
• Upbeat, communicative and empathic disposition.
• Committed to fostering well-being and fun.
• Willingness to occasional weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with staff and clinicians to promote healing and belonging through activities.
• Conduct needs assessments to ascertain physical, cognitive, emotional abilities.
• Determine individual interests and expectations for leisure time.
• Oversee budgeting and use of available finances.
• Develop a diverse activities program tailored to occupants' requirements.
• Purchase or lease supplies for activities.
• Source, train and supervise Activities Assistants.
• Advertise events well in advance of their scheduled times.
• Supervise and participate in events with staff and occupants.
• Compile periodic reports outlining successes, constraints, and next steps.
