Job summary

Oasis Senior Care seeks a passionate Activities Director to design, organize, and implement activity programs addressing social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and physical needs of residents under the care plan.

Role requires state-approved Activity Director training, licensure/registration, and prior long-term care experience. Responsible for admissions interviews, care plans, and monthly activity calendars, fostering community involvement and resident well‑being.

Qualifications

• Accreditation as a Certified Activity Director is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy or related area is required; must be licensed or registered.
• One-year experience as an Activity Director in long term care.
• Two years of experience conducting social/recreational programs within the past five years, one full-time in a health care setting.

Responsibilities

• Develops and delivers activity/recreational programming to promote residents’ opportunities for engaging in normal life.
• Completes the MDS-related documentation and attends Resident Care Plan meetings.
• Conducts admissions interviews and completes activity sections of assessments and care plans.
• Prepares a monthly calendar of activities and posts it.
• Identifies activity preferences and health issues affecting participation; documents findings.
• Develops an individualized plan of care based on resident needs and preferences.
• Implements strategies to increase resident involvement in activities within functional limits.
• Plans community activities involving community, staff, families and residents.
• Obtains physician approval for involvement in activity programs; maintains safety lists.
• Offers residents group and individual leisure activities and encourages participation.
