Job summary

Tower Lodge Care Center in Monmouth County, New Jersey, is seeking a compassionate Activities Director to lead our Recreation/Activities Department and develop programs that promote residents’ physical, mental, emotional, and social well‑being.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of full‑time experience in a patient activities program within a healthcare setting, and ADC certification; experience in skilled nursing or long‑term care is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

  • ADC (Activity Director Certification) is required.
  • At least 2 years of full-time experience in a patient activities program within a healthcare setting.
  • Must meet applicable state requirements for qualification, including completion of an approved training course.
  • Experience in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, assisted living, or long-term care setting is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, and evaluate engaging activity programs based on residents’ individual interests, abilities, and needs.
  • Direct the day-to-day operations of the Recreation/Activities Department in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Develop and maintain department policies and procedures in collaboration with facility leadership.
  • Work closely with nursing and other interdisciplinary team members to support residents’ overall well-being.
  • Coordinate individual and group activities that encourage social interaction, cognitive stimulation, creativity, and physical engagement.
  • Assist with evaluating activity-related functions and identifying tasks that may involve potential exposure to blood or bodily fluids in accordance with infection control practices.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and records related to resident activities and participation.
  • Ensure the department operates in compliance with facility policies and applicable regulatory requirements.

Compensation:
  • $50,000-$52,000 annually
