Qualifications

Position: Submerged Arc Seam Welder – 2nd Shift (4:00pm – 2:30am; Wed–Sat)

Starting wage: $26.32/hr + $1.50/hr shift differential.

Essential Functions
  • Set up and operate the flux core sub‑arc seam welding machine to place continuous seam welds on one or two sides of pole shafts.
  • Plan and layout work from blueprints, shop drawings, or other specifications.
  • Set up welding parameters (amps, volts) and fixturing.
  • Work in various positions while ensuring safety and load requirements are met.
  • Perform repetitive assembling operations according to established procedures, using hand tools and measuring devices.
  • Move pole shafts with an overhead crane and gather parts and materials to complete projects.
  • Carry out general maintenance of equipment and perform basic mathematical calculations for product prep and machine setup.

Required Qualifications
  • Successful completion of an internal welding test.
  • Working knowledge of fixturing and welding set‑up parameters.
  • Knowledge of welding properties of a variety of metals.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Ability to set up work and determine operation sequences.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations using U.S. and metric measurements.
  • Problem‑solving skills.
  • Teamwork capability with diverse groups.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to work instructions.
  • Ability to meet production, safety, and quality standards in a high‑paced environment.
  • Capability to lift up to 50lb (frequently 20lb).
  • Wearing required personal protective equipment and following facility safety regulations.
  • Maintain a safe and productive working environment.
Highly Qualified Candidates (Additional)
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Graduation from an accredited trade school for welding.
  • Three or more years of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • One or more years of professional welding experience.
  • High awareness for safety at all times.
  • Passion, integrity, and drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.
