Job summary

Hadrian, a leader in automated manufacturing, seeks a Tooling Engineer to design fixtures and tooling for aerospace and defense parts. You will take tools from CAD through fabrication, collaborating with welding engineers and our automation team at the Los Angeles floor.

Role requires 4+ years designing tooling in manufacturing, plus 3D CAD and GD&T proficiency. Robotics-focused tooling experience and AS9100/NAVSEA familiarity are a plus. Compensation reflects seniority and location.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Welding Eng or equivalent hands-on tooling experience.
• Experience designing weld fixtures or tooling and taking tools to production.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and GD&T with validation via FEA or similar.
• Experience with welding processes and tooling in high heat/high load settings.

Responsibilities

• Design weld fixtures and tooling from concept to detailed drawings.
• Validate tooling with FEA and hand calculations for load and thermal effects.
• Manage tool fabrication with internal shops and vendors, then release to production.
• Collaborate with welding engineers to control distortion and improve fit-up.
• Design tooling for robotic welding cells and positioners.
