Hadrian is seeking a Tooling Engineer on the Welding team at our Los Angeles weld development facility to design and build fixtures and tooling that let us weld aerospace, defense, and naval parts accurately and repeatably.

You will work from concept to fabrication and daily use on the floor, collaborating with welding engineers, welders, and our automation team in a role that combines manual welding with robotic cells.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years tooling design in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience designing weld fixtures or tooling.
• Track record taking tools from CAD into production and supporting them through prove-out.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and GD&T with FEA or static analysis.
• Knowledge of welding processes and material selection for tooling exposed to high heat and high loads.

Responsabilités

• Design weld fixtures and tooling from concept through detailed drawings.
• Validate tooling designs with FEA and hand calculations for load, stiffness and thermal effects.
• Manage tool fabrication with internal shops and outside vendors, then prove out and release each tool to production.
• Work with welding engineers and welders to control distortion, improve fit-up and safety.
• Design and adapt tooling for robotic welding cells and positioners to support weld automation.
