Hadrian, a leader in advanced autonomous manufacturing, seeks a Tooling Engineer for the Welding team at the Los Angeles facility. You will design and build fixtures for aerospace, defense, and naval parts, taking tools from concept through CAD, fabrication, and daily floor use, working with welding engineers, welders, and the automation team.

You’ll validate designs with FEA, manage fabrication with shops and vendors, and optimize tooling for robotic welding cells.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Welding Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 4+ years designing tooling in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience designing weld fixtures or tooling, or a combined welding and tooling background.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and GD&T with FEA or static analysis.
• Knowledge of welding processes and materials for tooling exposed to high heat and loads.

Responsabilités

• Design weld fixtures and tooling from concept through detailed drawings.
• Validate tooling designs with FEA and hand calculations.
• Manage tool fabrication with internal shops and outside vendors, then prove out and release to production.
• Collaborate with engineers and welders to control distortion and improve fit-up.
• Design tooling for robotic welding cells and positioners to support automation.
