Job summary

Hadrian in Torrance, CA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer focused on Welding to design tooling, fixtures, and coupons for automated welding from development to production. This in-person role blends CAD work and hands-on shop floor tasks in a fast-paced environment.

The candidate will collaborate with welding engineers and technicians, developing concepts for automation and tooling, and translating needs into manufacturable processes.

Qualifications

• Degree required in a related engineering field.
• 2+ years in manufacturing or mechanical design.
• Proficiency in CAD and GD&T, tolerance analysis.
• Comfort with shop-floor tooling, fixtures, and metrology.
• Exposure to machining, assembly, welding, additive, and inspection processes.

Responsibilities

• Support welding equipment needs for weld development, including CAD support for buying and setting up new equipment.
• Develop concepts for automation, tooling, fixtures, and development parts.
• Work with welding engineers and welders to weld actual parts in a development setting.
• Bridge automation, tooling, and welding by translating development needs into tooling-up, automatable processes.
• Coordinate across Build, Software, Tooling, Automation, and NDT to keep weld development unblocked.
