Job summary

Wabash National Corporation seeks a Welding Technician I in Lafayette, IN to support safe GMAW welding and fabrication processes. You will work with cross-functional teams, focusing on quality, training, and process improvements at the site.

The role involves learning basic automated welding and robotics, mentoring others, and reporting to the Welding Technician Supervisor. Expect a strong emphasis on safety and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years welding manufacturing experience.
• Formal welding training preferred but not required.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform GMAW welding on varied base materials at above-average quality.
• Assist basic automated welding and/or robotic programming as site needs.
• Program, troubleshoot and repair welding machines at a basic level.
• Communicate welding expectations to Production and other departments.
• Provide training and mentoring on welding processes and practices.
• Travel for training and exposure as needed.
• Collect, analyze, and report welding process data.
