Job summary

Fabcon, a leading precast concrete manufacturer, is hiring a permanent full-time welder/laborer in Indianapolis, IN to join a welding crew erecting precast panels. Role requires welding and construction labor, safety compliance, and teamwork.

Expect outdoor work in all weather and possible travel up to 50% with overtime as needed. Qualifications include welding experience, AWS 3G/4G certifications preferred, high school diploma or equivalent, and ability to follow directions.

Qualifications

• Welding experience required; AWS 3G and 4G welding certifications preferred.
• General knowledge of construction practices; two or more years of construction or manual labor experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to carry out simple and complex verbal instructions.
• Ability to safely work at heights, including from ladders and aerial work platforms.
• Ability to obtain membership in a local union.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Ability to travel extensively, including overnight travel 50% or more of the time.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding and general construction labor necessary to erect precast concrete wall panels.
• Complete welding assignments safely and efficiently as part of an erection crew.
• Follow work direction provided by the detail or erection crew foreperson.
• Perform additional construction and field duties as assigned by the foreperson.
• Use materials and supplies efficiently and handle tools and equipment responsibly.
• Follow all established safety policies, procedures, and jobsite requirements.
• Maintain professional conduct and work effectively with crew members and other jobsite personnel.
